Saturday 5th October 2013 marked the tenth anniversary of Annalena Tonelli's untimely death. Annalena, who would refer to herself by saying: 'I am nobody', received UNHCR's Nansen Refugee Award in June 2003 for her selfless commitment to the forcibly displaced and sick in Somalia and Wajir, northern Kenya.
In 2014, Books For Africa shipped a full container of 22,000 books to students living in the Kibera informal settlement on the edge of Nairobi, Kenya. The books were distributed by Carolina for Kibera, an organization that helps bring health and education to people living in this type of area.
